Item 9 Tour Day #3

Today we woke up and headed south, New Mexico way.  The motel we stayed in last night was a dump, it was a travel star but claimed to be a travel lodge.

We headed South in high spirits, catching some very scenic landscapes on the way down.  It was a great ride.

When we finally arrived in the ABQ we found we were unusually early and had to find something to do.  Luckily Bobby sniffed out a strip club with free admittance just down the road.  We hung out at the strip club for a bit then walked through their ped mall, which was very similar to Iowa City’s.

As show time neared we entered the venue, Burt’s Tiki Lounge, and started setting up.  The opening band, 200 West, failed to make the gig so we kicked the show off around 1030pm.  The band that played after, Antique Scream, was AWESOME.  They sounded like a heavy black keys and looked like James Hetfield and Dave Grohl rocking out together, literally.

After the show we went to a local party with Antique Scream, it’s safe to say they know what they are doing when it comes to the after party in the ABQ.  Late in the night, we piled in the car and headed West to meetup with friends and relatives on a mountain South of Flagstaff.
