Item 9 in LA Baby!

Today it was going to California time.  Land of rock n roll promises and broken hearts.  After leaving a bit late, unsurprisingly, and driving all day we finally looked over the horizon and entered the LA valley during sunset.  Having taken another hour and a half to get through town we finally arrived to the  venue, Amplifi Music in the heart of LA right next to paramount studios.  This was a tight little venue reminding us of public space 1 in Iowa City,  we rocked out to the crowd and got a decent turnout from a few of our friends in LA, Mandy and Alex.  Also Ashley, Pete’s GF’s sister and family came out to party a long with Pete’s boss Jonathan, a professional photographer, who took photos.  It was a blast.

After the show we met up with our buddy AJ who is works in the film industry.  He was having a party at his place and showed us a great time, then he took us to his favorite drinking spot and famous LA bar Barny’s Beanery.  Janice Joplin carved her name into a table and Jim Morrison pissed on the bar there, it was an awesome site to see as they still had the table and part of the bar there on display.  After getting nice and toasty on alcohol we noticed comedian Nick Swardson walk in the bar and partied the rest of the night away with him.  As Amo is under 21 he was good to drive and after the bar we headed to the van and started heading to Vegas, or at least so we thought.

The van started clunking really mean like and we started getting worried.  We were barely able to go 15 mph so we called our friends Mandy and Alex and crashed at there place, after a drunken talk with AAA.
